Screenshot Saturday Sundays! Our weekly check-in with the bizarre and wild world of pc sport growth. With everybody in lockdown, what higher technique to feign reference to the skin world than bonding over some decisively unfinished screenshots? This week: surrealist low-fi landscapes, an unconventional crossbow, slamming the ultimate slice, and a small fowl that’s as soon as once more asking on your monetary help.

First up – I’m unsure what a “surreal dogventure game” is meant to ivolve, however developer Aaron AKA shiisaicecream is serving up some hanging appears to be like.

Aaron’s been busy, posting three compilations of low-res, otherworldly landscapes on this week’s tag. Pitch black underground caverns, save for a single blue orb’s glow. A radio tower, shimmering in a 420p distance. I’ve posted numerous somewhat-PS1 impressed appears to be like in my tenure operating this column (and I’ll most likely put them on hiatus subsequent weekend), however there’s one thing infinitely compelling about worlds so unusual they will’t even be rendered crisply.

We’ve all been there. You’re at a flat get together, it’s getting late, and everybody’s staring on the final chilly slice of pizza. Let’s not get so bloody about it, eh?

This was an intense #LastSlice match the place we have been all on the final slice to win. There's three toppings in impact: mushrooms that make afterimages, pineapple that may randomly swap participant's positions, and pepperoni offers velocity increase.#gamedev #madewithunity #screenshotsaturday pic.twitter.com/j8ubpCPTIM

Last Slice, Shattered Journal’s hectic top-down arcade brawler may be very a lot Hotline Miami at a pizza get together. The twist? Well, it’s multiplayer for one – 4 gamers battle it out to seize the final chunk. But every spherical, a brand new ingredient provides a brand new twist to play. Chowed down on some spicy pepperoni, you get a velocity increase. Pineapples, for no matter cause, will begin teleporting gamers randomly. It appears to be like a proper blast, and it’s gotten me mighty hungry.

Our subsequent title isn’t the prettiest – but. But it’s displaying off some improbable weapon design, with a bit of little bit of Dark Messiah thrown in for good measure.

Pretty pleased with my substitute for the Gravity Bomb. The Bubble Arrow possibly sounds uncool nevertheless it's far more different and enjoyable #screenshotsaturday #gamedev pic.twitter.com/0a7zRGhaTC

Developer Alexey AKA cptnsigh has been posting cool-as-hell Shady Knight weapon clips for weeks. Daggers that search bloodlet foes, grappling hooks straight outta the Mortal Kombat playbook. But this balloon crossbow is an all-time nice – an exceptional little mobility instrument that can be utilized to arrange devilishly bouncy traps.

Finally, as a bonus this week. We know you all come right here for some prime, politics-free gaming. But these gosh-dang rascals at Skatebird have solely gone and sullied our screenshots with presidential candidate Birdie Sanders.

Why You Shouldn’t Sleep On Resident Evil 3’s Resistance Mode

Resident Evil has traditionally been a survival-horror franchise with a focus on moody isolation, which runs counter to the idea of online multiplayer modes. However, Resident Evil 3 includes an online asymmetrical 4v1 mode called Resistance that actually does a stellar job capturing the horror inherent in the series. In Resistance, a group of four survivors works together to escape the sadistic tests set up by the Machiavellian Umbrella corporation. Meanwhile, a single player-controlled mastermind works from the shadows to keep you in line and destroy your morale. It's more fun than I suspected and might be worth your time.
