PlatinumGames has dispelled rumors of a Microsoft acquisition, which surfaced final 12 months after Xbox boss Phil Spencer mentioned that he was eyeing a Japanese studio.
In an interview with Video Games Chronicle, studio head Atsushi Inaba mentioned that whereas he can’t touch upon what Microsoft does and says behind closed doorways, no dialog about an acquisition ever came about between them.
I did learn some rumours about Xbox wanting to buy PlatinumGames, and I assumed, ‘people on the internet write the craziest stuff’, as a result of that dialog has not come to our doorstep in any respect.
