I did learn some rumours about Xbox wanting to buy PlatinumGames, and I assumed, ‘people on the internet write the craziest stuff’, as a result of that dialog has not come to our doorstep in any respect. That mentioned, we’re not Microsoft, so we don’t know what occurs behind their doorways, we don’t know if they’d any ideas about it presumably.

We’ve not had any talks like that, however I believe even when it was a chance, we’re now going into extra unbiased self-publishing. It’s not that we’re disinterested in Microsoft, but when the connection had been to be us working beneath their route, I really feel like that will be the alternative of what we’re making an attempt to do now and restrict our prospects. Any alternatives that will restrict our freedom I believe we’d be towards.

Game director Hideki Kamiya jokingly mentioned that Microsoft might need modified its thoughts in regards to the acquisition when it realized that he was nonetheless working at PlatinumGames.

Elsewhere within the interview, Kamiya mentioned that though he’s not able to supply any recommendation to Microsoft, he feels that Xbox hasn’t completed properly in Japan as a result of it doesn’t cater to native tastes, in contrast to the PlayStation.
