Nintendo president apologizes for Joy-Con drift

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa addressed the corporate’s ongoing issues with Joy-Con drift during a financial Q&A posted recently. Furukawa stated the corporate apologizes for “any trouble caused to our customers,” noting that Nintendo is “continuing to aim to improve” its merchandise.

Of course, Nintendo remains to be going through a class-action lawsuit — filed within the United States in 2019 and up to date later within the yr — relating to the complaints in regards to the controllers, one thing Furukawa famous in his assertion, translated by Kotaku.

“Regarding the Joy-Con, we apologize for any trouble caused to our customers,” Furukawa stated within the assertion. “We are continuing to aim to improve our products, but as the Joy-Con is the subject of a class-action lawsuit in the United States and this is still a pending issue, we would it like to refrain from responding about any specific actions.”

The class-action lawsuit was filed towards Nintendo of America in July 2019, citing claims of Joy-Con controllers malfunctioning. Nintendo started issuing free repairs for controllers bothered with Joy-Con drift shortly after the lawsuit was filed.

In September, Nintendo launched the Switch Lite, a smaller, handheld-only model of the unique console. Notably, the Joy-Cons are constructed into the system — they’ll’t get replaced or unattached. Just over per week after the Switch Lite was launched, the brand new console was added to the class-action lawsuit.
