Nintendo formally launched an announcement on January 5, 2021 detailing the rationale for the acquisition of the developer. This is primarily to “secure the availability of NLG development resources for Nintendo.” Additionally, the assertion mentions that Nintendo anticipates “improved development speed and quality..” via the acquisition. The official statement goes on to point out that the “acquisition will only have minor effects on Nintendo’s results for this fiscal year.”

However, there have been no specs or particulars as to what Next Level Games shall be engaged on after the acquisition within the official assertion.

In December 2020, Nintendo introduced that it might be partnering with Sony and Microsoft to commit to creating safer, on-line environments. This included an official assertion from Corporate Vice President of Xbox Operations, Dave McCarthy, which detailed the plan and the three rules the firms will abide by so as to create these areas.
