After quite a period of silence, XSEED Games confirmed Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed will appear outside Japan in Summer 2021. People will be able to find it on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. It will be available both digitally and physically on consoles.
With the console versions, people can get a digital copy for $39.99 or the $49.99 physical 10th Anniversary Edition from XSEED Games’ online storefront. The two bonuses in the special edition are the Akiba’s 10 Years of Memories art book and the 47-song Akiba’s Trip 1st Complete Soundtrack.
There’s also a new Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed trailer. It shows off gameplay from the remaster. This includes a chance to hear the English voice acting during a few story segments.
The remake of the original Akiba’s Trip game was announced back in June 2019. While there was an initial trailer shared during E3 2019, everyone was fairly silent about it until January 2021. That’s when we began hearing about things like the new Tin Badge Collection feature.
Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed will come to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on May 20, 2021, with a worldwide release and PC version following in Summer 2021. The sequel, Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed, appeared worldwide on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. The third entry, Akiba’s Beat, appeared worldwide on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
