Reports crammed the web yesterday after it was found that iconic online game designer Yuji Naka, who had wrapped up his work on the divisive Balan Wonderworld, had left Square Enix the place he was given a one shot likelihood to make a model new 3D platformer. It now seems as if Mr. Naka resigned from his place at Square Enix in April, telling his followers on Twitter that he can’t discuss what occurred proper now. He says that he is now contemplating retirement from the video games industry, so he can presumably loosen up with mates and household. Here’s what Mr. Naka mentioned on Twitter:

“Due to inquiries from the media and users on Twitter, [I am announcing that] I resigned from Square Enix at the end of April 2021. I cannot tell you why right now, but I hope to be able to tell you when the time comes. As for my future plans, I’m already 55 years old, so retirement is in the cards. Here is a photo that was taken for the Sega Console Historia interview.”
