Gearbox Software’s Chief Executive Officer, Randy Pitchford, has confirmed that the studio continues to be working on a brand new Brothers in Arms game. It’s unclear if it’s the identical challenge that we heard of in 2015, which was in incubation section on the time.
Pitchford dropped the information throughout a dialog with Insomniac Games’ CEO, Ted Price, for the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Game Maker’s Notebook podcast again in April. However, that podcast was solely made public on YouTube by AIAS just a few days in the past, the place it received picked up by Atl/Char.
Pitchford made it clear that followers received’t hear something in regards to the subsequent Brothers in Arms till growth hits some type of a milestone.
“I didn’t even announce Borderlands 3 until it was in beta,” Pitchford mentioned. “It sucks because I know there’s a lot of people – we’re working on another Brothers in Arms game, but I’m not saying shit until we have it. We have fans that really love that [series], but they’re just going to have to suffer.”
Brothers in Arms hasn’t seen a mainline installment since 2008’s Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway. At E3 2011 Gearbox and Ubisoft unveiled Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, which was later cancelled. Many of Furious 4‘s elements were transferred to the now-shuttered Battleborn.
In 2015, Pitchford told IGN that Gearbox is working on a new, “authentic” Brothers in Arms game, but we haven’t heard something since then. As beforehand talked about, it’s unclear if the aforementioned challenge is similar one which was in incubation on the time or a completely new challenge.
