League of Legends developer Riot Games has teased two upcoming champions coming to its flagship MOBA game. In its newest champion roadmap, the studio has shared a bunch of particulars on its plans for champion releases into 2022, and whereas there are few specifics to go on proper now, the devs have given us a good flavour of who’s on the approach.
Our first teaser hints at an “electrifying start to 2022” in the type of a new “bot lane marksman who has been charging up and is rearing to finally get on the Rift”. Hmm. Riot makes lots of references to this electrifying high quality in the publish, giving us a sense of a champ with excessive mobility and a proactive strategy to the battle, teasing their “kinetic” nature and that they’re “always on the move, pulsing with sparky determination”.
It appears like this thriller character may also carry one thing new to the roster of their shooter-style gameplay, with Riot noting they’ll carry “the feeling of a shooter game to the roster”. The studio explains that it’s actually wished to “explore more unique basic attack concepts in League”, and it appears like this facet of the champ’s capacity package might be a key element of that intention.
“For this new champ, we wanted to re-explore the role of the basic attack in a marksman champion’s kit and see if we could completely turn its purpose around,” the devs clarify.
The “Electrifying Marksman” is my subsequent champion. Like Jhin and Graves, this one challenges what it means to have a ranged primary assault. They’re going to really feel a bit completely different 😀 pic.twitter.com/Od9616KYGS

As for the different thriller addition, Riot offers us a sense of a champ with a fairly – let’s say – decided perspective to chasing down victory. “Money runs this city. Technology, power, people. All can be bought when you have enough cash,” the publish teases. “Technology to reach out and take what you want, discarding it like trash when you’re done. Power to turn your enemies against each other, watching them kill the very ones they swore to protect. And people to manipulate with your terrifying charisma, sending them to almost certain death, only being saved if they fulfil your wishes.” Shudder.
While the particulars on this champion’s playstyle are virtually a complete thriller in the approach of particulars shared, it does appear we all know what function they’ll play. Riot seemingly refers to them as the “new villainous support” later in the publish, one thing backed up inside the teaser itself, too.

It’s value noting that these two champs are on account of arrive till subsequent 12 months. They had been initially deliberate to be half of an occasion developing later this 12 months, however the devs felt they “didn’t quite fit” – so, slightly than change their imaginative and prescient for these two new characters, the staff has moved their launch to 2022. The ADC will arrive someday “early next year” with the scary help champ following “a few patches after”.
